Sportsability are delighted to announce that we have secured funding to continue providing our Healthy Holidays programme for a further three years as a Hull City Council partner! That is up to and including Christmas 2024. 
The programme is designed to provide children and young people with free fun activities across the school holidays. 
 
Sportsability have secured the contract for SEND activities and activities relating to 5 to 11 year olds togther wth their families. We offer lots of swimming activities at Frederick Holmes and Hymers College as well as sporting, crafts and musical opportunities in a variety of venues throughout the City. 
 

EASTER 2024 ACTIVITIES 

Aims of the programme 

We want children who attend this provision to have the opportunity to : 
 
eat healthily over the school holidays 
be active during the school holidays 
take part in engaging and enriching activities which support the development of resilience, character, and wellbeing along with their wider educational attainment 
be safe and not to be socially isolated 
have a greater knowledge of health and nutrition 
be more engaged with school and other local services 
We also want to ensure that the families who participate in this programme: 
 
develop their understanding of nutrition and food budgeting 
are signposted towards other information and support, for example, health, employment, and education 
 
Activities for SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities) Children, Young Adults and their Families 
 
Sportsability are delivering a wide variety of sessions aimed at children and young people with SEND and their families. These include swimming, multisport activities, dance, music and crafts. Summer activities will take place between the core dates of Wednesday 26thJuly and Friday 1st September inclusive, not including the Monday August Bank Holiday. 
 
Activities for all 5-11 Year Olds 
 
Sportsability are offering swimming and water based activities for all 5 to 11 year olds and their families at a range of venues throughout the City of Hull including Frederick Holmes and Hymers College. We have a fabulous opportunity to provide fully funded Rookie Lifeguard training for those children able to swim 25 metres and aged 8 to 12 years and our own Mini Lifeguard training for those children who are unable to swim 25 metres and aged 5 years to 11 years.  
 
We also have some great games based sessions including water volleyball and water basketball, free play with water rafts and pool toys as well as our intensive swimming lessons. All our sessions are safely supervised with our highly qualified and experienced team of Swim Teachers and lifeguards. We are offering you a summer of fabulous water play, water confidence building and the ability to learn new skills, fully funded by Hull City Council for eligible applicants.
